The Glue Society create some magic for 42Below Vodka

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

The Glue Society, based in Australia, have recently created some real world art set pieces promoting the New Zealand vodka company 42 Below.

The Glue Society are proving to be one of the most original and creative art/design collectives currently around. I particularly like their music background choices on these pieces, some fine tunes from Boards of Canada and the Battles guys from New York.

Rothko at the Tate Modern

Friday, October 10th, 2008

Currently on display from the 26th September 2008 through to 1st February 2009 there is a wonderful exhibition, of the artist Mark Rothko, on at the Tate Modern in London.

This exhibition by one of the world’s most famous and best-loved artists, Mark Rothko, is the first significant exhibition of his work to be held in the UK for over 20 years.
The exhibition features works of his from 1958 through to his death in 1970. The highlight of the exhibition is probably the reuniting of Tate Modern’s iconic ‘Rothko Room’ Seagram Murals with the other works, in this series, from Japan. The Seagram Murals were originally commissioned for The Four Seasons Restaurant in the Seagram Building New York.

Mark Rothko is my favourite artist and is a huge inspiration to me and my work so I’m really looking forward to seeing the exhibition myself next week.
